Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is classified as a neurodevelopmental disorder in the DSM-5, characterized by a persistent pattern of inattention and/or hyperactivity-impulsivity that causes significant distress and interferes with an individuals functioning or development.
Examples of Inattention Challenges Common in ADHD:
- Difficulty paying close attention to details

- Often does not seem to listen when spoken to directly

Examples of Hyperactivity & Impulsivity Symptoms Common in ADHD:
- Often fidgets with or taps hands or feet or squirms in seat
- Difficulty sitting still and often leaves seat when remaining seated is expected
- Often talks excessively or at a very fast pace
- Often has difficulty waiting their turn
- Often interrupts or intrudes on others (e.g., in conversations, playing games)
